Notice how many of these words are built from Ver- or Sendung/Versand as a shared root: der Versand, die Versandkosten, die Sendungsverfolgung, and die Lieferung, die Lieferzeit all cluster around the idea of something being sent and arriving. Learn der Versand and der Paketdienst together, since one is the shipping process and the other is the company doing it (DHL, Hermes, etc.). Der Versand is the shipping process itself (how and that something gets sent), while die Lieferung is the delivery, meaning the package actually arriving at your door. A shop might say 'kostenloser Versand' (free shipping) but 'die Lieferung dauert 3 Tage' (delivery takes 3 days).
Is Umtausch the same as a refund?
No. Der Umtausch means exchanging an item for another one, like a different size, not getting your money back. If you want your money instead, you're making eine Warenrücksendung or asking for eine Rückerstattung.
What does Sendungsverfolgung mean on a German shopping site?
Die Sendungsverfolgung is package tracking, the link or number you use to see where your parcel currently is. You'll usually find it in an email from der Paketdienst after your die Bestellung ships.
